#new2irc is one of the oldest help channels on DALnet. Our directive used to be "Come in for a chat, catch up with friends, or just watch, learn and ask questions." We are there to help. Apparently.
These days, we are much less a help channel than just a quiet place to hang. We like it.
The channel was formed in 1995 when a small group of Efnet users moved to DALnet and began #new2irc to make a fresh start on a new network. Since that time there have been a succession of Founders, Operators and regular users. The channel's history is, well, colourful.
